The ygap South Africa Accelerator Program aims to help ventures refine and validate their business models, advance towards financial sustainability, and increase their impact within their communities. Completing this program will enhance your capacity to increase revenue, generate employment opportunities, attract further investment, and make tangible differences in the communities you serve.
Program Overview:
- Bootcamp sessions will aid in fortifying your business model, connecting with a cohort of like-minded entrepreneurs, and furnishing you with the necessary tools for growth.
- The ygap team of local experts will offer tailored support over 12 months, encompassing business skills enhancement, technical assistance, strategic insights, mentorship, access to international partner networks, peer learning opportunities, and integration into a global community of entrepreneurs.
Requirements:
- Ventures operating in the agriculture sector are sought, with a special emphasis on encouraging Black and women-led businesses engaged in climate and sustainability, livelihoods, or food security.
- Post-revenue ventures capable of providing evidence of commercial transactions are preferred.
- Ventures must demonstrate a clear understanding of and enthusiasm for the benefits and value of participating in the ygap program, as deep investment and commitment are expected reciprocally.
- Social or environmental focus is essential, with ventures committed to improving their community, city, or country through their business operations.
- Ventures should have a “local” approach to addressing the issues they tackle, be intimately connected to their community, be passionate, and committed, and be in it for the long term.
- Operational ventures that have already been launched are preferred. In most instances, participating ventures must be formally registered, and proof of registration will be required unless it does not apply to the region where the business operates.
