Requirements:
To avoid disqualification, clearly outline the following aspects:
- Vision, uniqueness, authenticity, and rationale behind the project.
- Demonstration of innovation addressing travel and tourism challenges in Africa, particularly in the COVID-19 era and beyond. This may include technological, social, educational, youth empowerment, job creation, environmental sustainability, community development, etc.
- The projected sustainability and impact on travel and tourism, local communities, or related industries.
- Timelines detailing the project’s implementation.
- Types of support required, whether funding, investors, mentorship, partnerships, etc.
- Concluding remarks or additional, relevant information within a 500-word limit.
- A demo/Minimum Viable Product (MVP) presentation (5 min) is mandatory during the competition.
- Age limit: 35 years.
Timeline:
- Deadline for submissions: March 1, 2024.
- Adjudicators will select the top 5 candidates by March 22, 2024.
- Shortlisted project promoters will be notified on March 29, 2024.
- Elevator pitch mentorship sessions (12 hours): April 10–May 16, 2024.
- Shortlisted project promoters will present 5-minute presentations at the summit on May 15, 2024.
- Top 3 projects announced on May 31, 2024.
- Winners and runners-up revealed at the ATLF Awards in Gaborone, Botswana, in October 2024
