To reward academic excellence, the Dean’s Global Excellence Scholarship reduces tuition fees for exceptional undergraduate students from several faculties.
These scholarships are designed to support international students in pursuing their academic aspirations at the University of York.
All undergraduate students who have received an offer from York will automatically be considered, and successful candidates will be notified by Friday, May 10, 2024. Formal application for the scholarship is not required.
This scholarship opportunity is available to all international (including EU) undergraduate students.
Benefits
The scholarship offers a full tuition fee reduction for the first year, followed by a £10,000 tuition fee reduction for the second and third years.
Requirements
Eligibility for the Dean’s Global Excellence Scholarship is limited to international (including EU) students only.
To qualify for this scholarship, you must:
- Have received a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the University of York by May 1, 2024.
- Be subject to overseas fee rates (any fee assessments must be finalized by May 1, 2024).
- Plan to attend a full-time undergraduate program.
You will be ineligible if:
- You hold a scholarship covering 100 percent of tuition fees or are fully sponsored.
Students following these pathways are not eligible for these scholarships:
- Hull York Medical School
- International Pathway College
- Distance and online learning programs
- Part-time courses
- Kaplan International College London
Selection Process
A panel comprising senior University staff will be responsible for selecting the recipients of the scholarship.

- All undergraduate students with an offer from York will automatically be considered.
Upon being offered a scholarship, you must:
- Formally accept the scholarship offer using the provided link in your offer email.
- Accept your admission offer from York.
These steps must be completed by the deadline specified in your offer email. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the scholarship, which will then be offered to an alternate candidate.
If a credibility interview is required, your scholarship will be contingent upon a successful outcome. Failure to pass the interview will result in the rescission of the scholarship offer.
Deferring your admission to the University of York will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
