The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Action Awards are a flagship event of the UN SDG Action Campaign, honoring groups and individuals for their efforts to inspire, unite, and galvanize others to achieve global change.
MOBILIZE
Projects that convert inaction into action by rallying tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of individuals to take action for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are looking for projects that will have a significant impact, which will generally involve group efforts that are well-coordinated and involve a number of individuals working together to fulfill the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
INSPIRE
Programs that tap into the power of creativity to motivate constructive change and alter behavior in the service of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are looking for projects and motivational efforts that use the slogan “Flip the Script” to change people’s behaviors and the regulations that govern our society.
CONNECT
Programs that convert division into unity by uniting multiple sectors and partners, ranging from individuals to institutions, in order to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are looking for projects that will “flip the script” and connect individuals, groups, and institutions in order to harness commitments and responsibility in the direction of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Put up the names of remarkable people.
CHANGEMAKER
Extraordinary people who illustrate that the capacity to Flip the Script and bring about fundamental shifts in society is within each and every one of us. Their initiatives had an incredible impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the ground while simultaneously empowering communities and producing a multiplying effect.
THE CRITERIA FOR JUDGMENT
Below is a list of the criteria that will be used to evaluate any and all applications and nominations:
IMPACT
How significant is the effect of the initiative? Example: the number of people impacted, the number of individuals mobilized, the number of sectors involved, the policies/legislation/budgets effected, and the demonstrable adjustments in behavior towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
APPROACH
How cutting-edge is the plan for implementing this initiative? Is this a ground-breaking concept? Does the project also involve people who have been left behind?
SCALABILITY/ REPLICABILITY
Is it possible to expand the scope of this effort or reproduce it in other settings to speed up the attainment of the Global Goals? Is there any evidence to suggest that the scaling up or replicating process is currently underway?
