The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change is offering an exciting Summer Associate Internship Programme spanning ten weeks in Anglophone West African countries (The Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone), starting in June 2024. This opportunity is designed for outstanding candidates with a passion for politics and a drive to effect change through collaboration with governments.

During this internship, you’ll gain diverse experience collaborating with colleagues both locally and globally. You’ll be immersed in innovative projects within our expanding portfolio, contributing to business development activities. Throughout the programme, you’ll work on specific projects supporting political leaders across various advisory levels, contributing to impactful change initiatives. You’ll receive mentorship from experienced colleagues and gain a comprehensive understanding of life at TBI. Whether colleagues spend a few years or a significant portion of their careers at TBI, their experience equips them to make a substantial global impact.

The compensation for this role is competitive.

Key Responsibilities:

The Internship Programme offers the opportunity to engage in the following:

  • Conduct research, analysis, and produce written insights and deliverables for clients and country leadership.
  • Assist in projects or development initiatives as TBI guides political leaders on strategy, policy, and implementation, leveraging technology across all aspects.
  • Aid in achieving high project impact levels, facilitating agile performance tracking and coordination as needed.
  • Utilize and learn from innovative approaches to drive change and deliver impact effectively.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies, frameworks, and approaches.
  • Support project teams in creating reports, presentations, and other relevant documents.

Person Specification:

  • Applications from individuals in their second or third year of undergraduate studies are encouraged by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
  • The Institute seeks changemakers who possess:
