Applications are currently being accepted for the Women for Africa Foundation Learn Africa Scholarship Programme.
Requirements:
General Requirements:
- Applicants must be female and hold nationality and residency in an African country.
- Enrollment in an African university or possession of a university degree issued in an African country is required. For postgraduate scholarships, a Bachelor’s degree is necessary. The specific degree required may vary depending on the scholarship being applied for (refer to detailed information on each scholarship).
- Fulfilment of the specific requirements outlined for the desired scholarship.
- Only one application per individual will be considered.
Technical and Academic Requirements:
- It is imperative to carefully review the information provided in the description of the desired studies, as well as on the university website (linked to each scholarship), regarding the academic prerequisites.
- Successful applicants are obligated to furnish the host university with legally attested, certified, and translated copies of their university degree, academic transcript, or any other requested documentation. - The recipient must also furnish a certificate from her university affirming her possession of a degree qualifying her for the intended studies (Master’s or Ph.D.).
- For applicants seeking online scholarships, access to a suitably equipped computer for online courses is essential. Considerations include internet connectivity, web browser, operating system, desktop applications, webcam, Zoom/Microsoft Teams applications, etc.
Language Requirements:
- Prior to applying, ensure you possess the necessary language proficiency. A high level of proficiency in the language of instruction (B2 or C1, depending on the host university) will always be required. Language proficiency must be demonstrated through the submission of an official language certificate or via a telephone interview with the university.
- Upon selection, you will receive a notification email and potentially a phone call from the Women for Africa Foundation to personally inform you. You will be expected to communicate with the foundation’s staff in the language corresponding to the scholarship you applied for.
