Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 NedBank Quantitative Analyst Graduate Programme aimed at nurturing young South Africans. The program aims to cultivate top-tier Quantitative Analysts who will contribute to the development and upkeep of best-practice models and assessment strategies aligned with regulatory standards, where applicable, to facilitate exceptional risk management practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and propose effective methods to enhance business processes, models, and systems, thus adding value to Nedbank.
  • Actively participate in various committees within the Nedbank Quants Training Programme, such as the marketing committee, recruitment committee, and social committee, to enrich personal and professional growth while contributing to the program’s value.
  • Engage with and support business units by attending forums and committees, ensuring that their needs are met through direct interaction.
  • Assist in addressing business queries by extracting and analyzing relevant data.
  • Document processes and models to ensure continuity and knowledge retention.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with policies through data analysis.
  • Facilitate understanding of operational and analytical concepts by effectively communicating with stakeholders.
  • Enhance personal capabilities and stay updated with industry developments by identifying suitable training opportunities and career progression paths, and sharing knowledge and industry trends with the team.
  • Contribute to fostering a culture conducive to achieving transformation goals by participating in Nedbank’s cultural initiatives, such as staff surveys.

Minimum Qualifications – NQF Level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business or related field, Postgraduate degree, Honours, or Masters degree (with specializations in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, econometrics, financial engineering, quantitative risk management, or similar)

Exposure:

  • Conducting root cause analysis
  • Analyzing complex situations or data requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors
  • Developing risk mitigation strategies
  • Influencing stakeholders to gain support for concepts and ideas
  • Collaborating with a group to identify alternative problem-solving approaches
  • Interacting with diverse individuals
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
