The Mid Career Fellowship is designed to equip today’s leaders with the skills to navigate the challenges of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA), recognizing the profound influence of the Internet on their purpose, livelihood, and organizational objectives.
This unique opportunity offers 15 Fellows access to world-class educational institutions and experts in a seven-month program, running from June to December. Its goal is to equip mid-career Internet advocates worldwide with the expertise, capabilities, and resources essential for inclusive, innovative, comprehensive, and strategic leadership.
Fellows engage in five modules comprising live lectures, assessments, and a culminating symposium to showcase their work. The program also features seminars on relevant trends like digital geopolitics, leadership in VUCA environments, and advocacy and communications, along with practical case studies and cross-sector networking.
The essential subjects covered include the internet’s critical properties and enablers, digital transformation and key issues, digital futures and strategic foresight, systems and design thinking, and leadership and decision-making.

Requirements:
Candidates eligible for the Mid Career Fellowship must be mid-career professionals holding leadership positions within the Internet ecosystem, whether in technical, policy, economic, or social capacities. Applicants are encouraged to apply if they meet the following criteria:
- Possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including leadership or managerial roles in the Internet sector, spanning technical, policy, economic, societal, or related domains.
- Currently employed in a position or organization actively addressing digital challenges or undergoing digital disruption and transformation.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in problem-solving, collaborating in multi-stakeholder and interdisciplinary teams, and acquiring new knowledge and skills.
- Share a commitment to maintaining an open, globally connected, secure, and trustworthy Internet.
Additionally, candidates must:
- Have reliable access to a broadband Internet connection and the necessary devices.
- Commit to fully participating in the seven-month program, involving approximately six hours per week.
- Prove competency in both written and spoken English.
Selection Process Timeline:
- March 6, 2024: Opening of application submissions
- March 27, 2024: Closing of application submissions
- April to May 2024: Selection of Fellows
- Early June 2024: Commencement of Cohort
- Mid-December 2024: Symposium
