The Italian Government Scholarship offers grants to both foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2024-25. This scholarship provides a grant of 9,000 Euros to promote international cooperation in cultural, scientific, and technological fields, enhance the Italian language and culture, and support Italy’s global economic presence.
Requirements: In order for applicants to be considered for the Italian Government Scholarship, they need to:
- Submit their applications exclusively through the Study in Italy portal.
- Possess a valid passport or identity card and upload a legible photocopy of the document during registration, under penalty of exclusion.
- Meet the following criteria by the application deadline (June 9th, 2023, 2.00 pm CET):
Academic Qualifications:
- Only foreign students and Italian students living abroad are eligible.
- Applicants must hold the necessary academic qualifications to enroll in an Italian University/Institute.
Age Requirements:
- Master’s Degree/Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) Programs/Advanced Courses in Italian Language and Culture: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and no older than 28 before the application deadline, with the exception of renewals.
- PhD Programs: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not older than 30 years by the application deadline, with exceptions for renewals.
- Research Projects under Academic Supervision: Applicants must be between 18 and 40 years old by the application deadline.
Duration and Reward
The Italian Government Scholarship includes:
- Exemption from enrollment and tuition fees.
- Health and medical/accident insurance covered by MAECI.
- A total stipend of 9,000 Euros, paid in three installments.
- The first installment of 4,500 Euros.
- The second installment of 2,500 Euros.
- The third and final installment of 2,000 Euros.
- Grantees will have collective health and medical insurance, valid for the duration of the grant, contracted by MAECI.
