Fully Funded 2024/2025 Bilateral Education Agreement Scholarships for Nigerian Students Pursuing Overseas Studies

The Honourable Minister of Education (HME), Prof. Tahir Mamman OON, SAN, cordially invites interested and eligible Nigerians to participate in the 2024/2025 Federal Government Scholarship Awards under the BILATERAL EDUCATION AGREEMENT (BEA).

The scholarship opportunities include:

i) Undergraduate (UG) studies offered in Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt, and Algeria. ii) Postgraduate (PG) studies available in Russia (for individuals with prior degrees obtained from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania.

FIELDS OF STUDY: a. Undergraduate level – Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine (limited), Pilot Engineering, Neurology. b. Postgraduate level (Masters and PhD) across all academic fields.

Eligibility Criteria:

For UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • Applicants must hold a minimum qualification of Seven (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in the Senior Secondary School Certificates, WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Certificates should not exceed two (2) years old (2022 & 2023) for Non-African Countries, and one year (2023) for African countries. Age limit: 17 to 20 years.

For POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • Applicants must possess a First Degree with a 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division.
  • Completion of the N.Y.S.C. Programme is mandatory
  • Candidates up to 35 years of age are considered for Master’s programs, while those up to 40 years of age are eligible for Ph.D. programs.
  • Acceptance of N.Y.S.C. discharge or exemption certificates is required.
  • Evidence of readiness to be released by an employer is required

GENERAL NOTE FOR ALL APPLICANTS:

(i) Due to the non-English-speaking nature of the BEA countries, applicants are required to be prepared for a mandatory one-year foreign language course in their chosen country, which will serve as the standard medium of instruction.

(ii) Hungarian scholarship applicants have the opportunity to apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference. To apply, visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu, which will be open from mid-November until January 16th, 2024. Complete the online application form.

(iii) For Russian Scholarship applicants, please visit the website http://education-in-russia.com, which is currently open.

(iv) Applicants for the Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have obtained their first degree in Russia.

(v) All required documents must be uploaded onto the Russian Application Portal and should be properly scanned in PDF format.

(vi) Applicants are required to upload the following certificates online:

a. UNDERGRADUATE (UG): WAEC/WASSCE & NIN Slip

b. POSTGRADUATE (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, NIN Slip & NYSC discharge or exemption Certificate


NB: Candidates nominated by the Board must provide the following to the Federal Scholarship Board:


Certified duplicates of academic certificates, the current International passport’s data page, specific medical reports obtained from government hospitals, a birth certificate, an indigenous letter, and a police clearance certificate if deemed necessary are required documents
