Campus France invites you to delve into French+Sciences, a brief program focusing on language, science, and technology studies. Enrollment for the 2024 sessions is now available.

French+Sciences is a highly practical professional training initiative where students engage as prospective engineers, collaborating with leading firms and research institutions in cutting-edge technological sectors.

Developed by Campus France in collaboration with select French Language Centers (FLE), universities, engineering schools, and companies, French+Sciences is a brief language and scientific study program focusing on advanced technological sectors.

French+Sciences caters to international university students in scientific and technical fields who are proficient in English but may have limited proficiency in French. Enrollment in the program requires English proficiency at B2.

The French+Sciences Program offers 3- to 4-week sessions organized by FLE Centers accredited with the “FLE Quality” label. Sessions are available in various cities across France.

Each session delves into a specific scientific theme: Focus on Sustainable Development (Montpellier), Science and Technology of the Sea (Brest), Micro, Nano, and Smart Technologies for Industrial Applications (Besançon), Emphasis on Energy and Transportation (Rouen), Mountain Science (Chambéry).

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate (bachelor’s degree) students interested in spending time immersed in French culture, science, and language. Language requirements: > In French: beginner level (or higher) > In English: B2 level required

Session Details:

The sessions offer a unique blend of French language instruction and modules taught in English. The French+Sciences program sessions are primarily conducted in English, supplemented with some French language learning modules. English-speaking tutors provide assistance during the student’s stay.

Activities conducted entirely in English:

  • Scientific modules in the afternoons include visits to companies and laboratories, presentations on engineering training programs, thematic debates, etc.
  • Cultural activities on weekends include a program of cultural visits to explore the attractions of the five regions where the program is conducted.

Activities conducted in French:

  • French language instruction in the mornings consists of 15 hours of classes per week in French as a foreign language, enabling students to develop or enhance their oral and written communication skills.

  • Airport pickup and transportation to and from the language center (with a minimum of 10 students);
  • Accommodation (three options), tutoring, and progress monitoring;
  • Assessment and final report.
