Empower Financing Women in STEM 2024 Scholarship: Opportunity for International Students

Written by admin

We are committed to tackling educational inequality, particularly in the field of science. To support the remarkable potential of women in STEM, we have established the MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship. You don’t need to be an MPOWER borrower to apply! Don’t hesitate any longer!

Aligned with MPOWER’s mission to empower talented individuals worldwide to achieve their educational goals and become future leaders in science and innovation, this scholarship program targets women who intend to use their STEM education to contribute to society and the environment. We seek individuals who have the potential to inspire and advocate for women in STEM.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, only 32 percent of STEM degrees in the U.S. were awarded to women in a single year. It shouldn’t be a struggle for women studying computer engineering, nuclear science, software development, and other STEM fields to secure funding for their dreams. Additionally, the Society of Women Engineers highlighted significant gender disparities in engineering and computer science, with only 20 percent of bachelor’s degrees in these fields held by women.

For MPOWER’s CEO and co-founder, Manu Smadja, these statistics present a societal challenge that needs addressing. “It’s crucial for our society to have diverse representation of women shaping the future of science and technology. The world could benefit greatly if we empower female talent to lead the advancements in healthcare, education, transportation, and urban development, among other areas. By supporting talented female students pursuing studies and careers in North America, we aim to narrow the gender gap in the STEM workforce. However, we aspire to do more, and launching this new scholarship program for Women in STEM is another step towards achieving equality.”
