Each year, BU welcomes about 20 exceptional students to the Trustee Scholars Program. Many of our current scholars maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA in high school and were top-ranking students in their class.
Aside from outstanding academic qualifications, Trustee Scholars display intellectual curiosity and creativity, showcasing viewpoints, experiences, or accomplishments that go beyond the norm. They are not solely top students but individuals with diverse and exceptional skills. At BU, Trustee Scholars become part of a distinctive campus community that provides various intellectual, cultural, and social prospects.
Benefits:
The Trustee Scholarship encompasses full undergraduate tuition along with mandatory undergraduate student fees and is renewable for four years upon meeting specific criteria.

Please choose from one of the following prompts and submit an essay, in 600 words or less, as part of your application via the Common Application.
- Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel and BU professors once shared, “There is divine beauty in learning. To learn means to accept the postulate that life did not begin at my birth.” Has a book, film, podcast, or life experience deepened your connection to your personal history or identity? What was the most significant lesson you learned from it?
- Share a time when you felt discomfort or marginalization in a situation. How did you react at that moment, and how has it influenced your subsequent actions?
Method of Application:
To be considered for a Trustee Scholarship:
- Submit the Common Application and all required materials for admission to any of the undergraduate degree programs at BU by December 1.
- Ensure to finalize the Trustee Scholarship essay within the Common Application as an integral component of your application to BU.
