The International Scholarships for Surgical Education aim to provide young faculty members from countries outside the United States and Canada with opportunities for faculty development and enhancement in surgical education and training. These scholarships, valued at $10,000 each, offer educational experiences that contribute to acquiring new knowledge and skills, enriching the scholar’s home institution and country’s surgical education and training programs.
Benefits:
- $10,000 stipend supporting travel, per diem in the U.S., and course expenses at the Clinical Congress and visited centers.
- Gratis registration for the Clinical Congress and assistance in securing affordable housing in Boston, MA, the 2024 Clinical Congress city.
Requirements:
- Applicants must be medical school graduates.
- Age range: at least 30 years old but under 45 when the application is filed.
- Must apply from their intended permanent location.
- Minimum of five years in surgical practice and teaching after completing formal training.
- Submission of a completed online application form in English, along with independently prepared recommendation letters.
- Scholarship use is designated for the specified year and cannot be postponed.
- Awardees are required to submit a post-visit report highlighting the visit’s value and potential benefits to patients in their home country.
- Unsuccessful applicants may reapply only twice with updated supporting documentation.
