The JournalismAI Fellowship Programme is a free online program that brings together journalists and engineers from media organizations worldwide to explore novel ways to improve journalism using AI technology.

JournalismAI Fellowship participants drive the program. Each team will organize and develop its work autonomously throughout the six months, with assistance from the JournalismAI team and regular check-ins with the cohort.

Each team will have a coach/mentor selected by JournalismAI and access to JournalismAI’s worldwide network of AI journalism specialists, researchers, and innovators. The six-month process will be guided by definition, ideation, prototyping, and testing. To improve reporting and storytelling with AI-powered solutions.

Requirements

  • News organizations worldwide are welcome to apply.
  • To participate in the program, you must have expertise working on AI-powered products or storytelling.

Requirements for Selection

  • The 2023 Fellowship cohort will include up to 30 journalists and engineers who will collaborate from June through December to create AI-powered reporting solutions.

The fellowship is structured so that participants can continue working while devoting eight hours per week to their fellowship responsibilities. Teams will get funding and guidance from JournalismAI professionals.
