The Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton program, which debuted in 2019, is the industry’s first women-in-business support initiative, provided by Access Bank’s W Initiative. In its first round, the program gave free mini-MBA certification to 50 Nigerian women entrepreneurs and financial grants totaling N9 million to the top three applicants. This was done in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC, a World Bank Group member). The program was expanded to eleven more African countries where Access Bank’s W project is present. As a result, the initiative has offered Mini-MBAs to over 300 African women entrepreneurs. This year marks the program’s fifth season, intending to provide mini-MBA certification to more than 120 women entrepreneurs in Nigeria and awards totaling over N17 million Naira to WSMEs.
