Brookings Internship Program 2024: Opportunities for Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Written by admin

Want to start your professional career in a meaningful way? Brookings offers paid internships to around 150 degree-seeking students and recent graduates each year, with cohorts available in the spring, summer, and fall. These internships span across our five research programs (Governance Studies, Economic Studies, Foreign Policy, Global Economy and Development, and Brookings Metro) as well as in our business units such as communications, finance, and human resources. To gain insights into the program, timelines, and expectations, please refer to the details outlined in the Brookings Internship Program.

The Brookings Internship Program provides degree-seeking students, and occasionally recent graduates, the opportunity to explore and develop their careers while learning new skills. The objective of the Internship Program is to offer a pre-professional, valuable, and hands-on work experience aligned with the student’s academic field or career aspirations. Internships are offered within a range of Brookings research programs (such as Governance Studies, Global Economy and Development, Brookings Metro, Economic Studies, and Foreign Policy) as well as in central business units (including Human Resources, Executive Office, Finance, Development, Facilities, and Communications).

The specific tasks assigned to interns vary depending on the position and may encompass research projects, administrative duties, communications tasks, and more.. Interns are integrated into Brookings’ day-to-day operations and, in addition to curated learning experiences for the intern cohort, are encouraged to participate in internal and external events, local networking opportunities, social and community programming, staff professional development, and employee-led professional networks and affinity groups. When available, you can find all open internships here.
