Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), in partnership with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), is offering University Scholarship Awards to qualified Nigerian students from all states across the country. This scholarship initiative is a key element of our strategic investment in the advancement of education in Nigeria.
Important Notes:
- Only applications submitted through the designated web portal will be considered.
- SCHOLASTICA serves as the official platform for the NNPCL/CNL JV National University Scholarship program..
- No computer-based test will be conducted. Selection will be based on academic credentials submitted by students.
- All applicants must provide accurate and complete information.
- Applicants for the NNPCL/CNL JV National University Scholarship award are not eligible to apply for any other scholarship programs sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited, NNPCL, or their affiliates.
- No payments are required at any stage of the application process. The application is free.
- Email applications will not be accepted.
- CNL does not appoint representatives or agents to aid applicants.
- Candidates presenting false documents will be disqualified or withdrawn at any stage.
- Scholarship awards cannot be transferred to another university or course of study.
Please note that applicants for the NNPCL/CNL JV scholarship are also ineligible to apply for any other scholarship program sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Limited, its JV Partners, or affiliates, including the Agbami scholarship program, which is published simultaneously with this NNPCL/CNL JV scholarship program.

Requirements Full-time, SECOND YEAR (200 LEVEL) degree students enrolled in any of the listed courses at Nigerian Universities are eligible. (Note: Ensure you verify your academic session before applying. This applies to students admitted in the 2022/2023 academic session).
Applicants must:
- Maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5.0 grade scale or its equivalent in other grading systems.
- Attain at least six O-level credits in a single examination sitting.
The NNPCL/Chevron Joint Venture also offers scholarships specifically for blind/visually impaired SECOND YEAR (200 LEVEL) degree students studying any course in Nigerian Universities.
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in a 5.0 grade system or the equivalent in other grading systems.
- Possess at least five O-level credits.
Application Documents
Before starting your application, ensure you have clear, scanned copies of the following documents:
- Passport photograph (not older than 6 months, 450px by 450px, max 200kb)
- School ID card
- Admission Letter
- Birth Certificate
- O’ Level Result
- JAMB Result
- Local Government Area Letter of Identification
Name each document according to its content to avoid confusion during upload. Attach the correct documents when prompted.
Method of Application
- Click on the “Apply Now” tab.
- Select “Register Now” to establish an account.
- Proceed to your email inbox to activate your account.
- Visit the Scholarship site.
- Input your registered email and password to upload your information.
- Provide your personal information, National Identification Number (if available), educational information, and other information, and upload the required scanned documents.
- Ensure the names on your application match the names on all documentation in the same order. Upload a sworn affidavit or certificate if they differ.
- Review all documents after uploading to ensure accuracy.
- Upload a passport photograph with a white background when prompted.
- Double-check your application information to avoid errors.
- Return to “Active Scholarships,” select the scheme you wish to apply for, and click “Apply Now” to submit your information.
- You will receive a notification on the screen and via email confirming your successful application. Check “My application” in the “My account” section of your profile.
- Return to Scholastica, enter your Email and Password to download your profile, and have your Head of Department sign the document.
- Submit a scanned copy of the signed profile for verification purposes.
If your National Identification Number (NIN) was not available in step 6, follow the necessary steps to obtain it.
Steps to Obtain Your National Identity Number (NIN)
- Visit NIN Enrolment to register and learn more about the National Identity Number.
- Select “Create Account” and complete all necessary fields.
- Log in with your Email and Password to complete the form.
- After completion, schedule a date for photo and fingerprint capture.
- Visit any of the 37 capture centres listed here to complete the registration process and obtain your NIN.
- You can also complete your registration at a NIMC office.
After obtaining your NIN, return to Scholastica and update your application with your NIN to ensure completion.
Note: Multiple applications may result in disqualification by the Scholarship board. Applications will exclusively be accepted via this website. Hard copies of any documents submitted will not be processed. All interested students should click on the “How to Apply” tab to proceed.
This scholarship is exclusively available to full-time second-year (200-level) students enrolled in the 2022–2023 academic session. Please verify your academic session before completing your application.
