We believe that social impact organizations hold a unique position to deliver existing products or services proven to enhance lives in areas where there is still significant need. Take a look at the D-Prize Challenges below and choose one of the impactful products or services that require broader global access.
Our initial support is intended to serve as the starting point for your organization, which we envision growing to a large scale. Follow our Application Process to develop an initial test pilot of your broader vision. Submit your concept to our biannual competition. If your proposal is chosen, you will receive seed funding to kickstart your venture.
Benefits:
We provide startup grants of up to $20,000 to entrepreneurs launching new organizations. We recognize the necessity for more social impact organizations globally and offer support to for-profit ventures, NGOs, and charities. Our assistance extends to organizations in any low- or middle-income country where extreme poverty persists.
Requirements:
D-Prize is geared towards new organizations, with most of our recipients being first-time entrepreneurs. The majority have not yet launched their organization or secured other funding. We particularly encourage applicants from low- and middle-income countries.
We will only consider applications from existing organizations if their primary focus is on distributing an existing, evidence-based poverty intervention. Typically, we do not support organizations with over 18 months of full-time operations or those that have raised more than $30,000 USD in external funding.
Selection Process:
Choose a challenge from the options provided and be mindful of the following deadlines:
– The Global Competition begins on May 6, 2024.

- Over the next several months, focus on piloting your idea and establishing an organization that can scale up rapidly.
