The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) is a regional non-governmental organization committed to enhancing the capabilities of civil society organizations in West Africa for greater sustainability, operational efficiency, and development impact.
To address the need for structured practical capacity building for young West Africans, WACSI launched the Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP) in January 2008. This initiative aims to cultivate the next generation of African scholars and practitioners, focusing on recent graduates or early career professionals from West Africa seeking work experience in WACSI’s key areas of focus. Interns are expected to dedicate six months to WACSI, participating fully in its activities to enhance their leadership skills, program management abilities, and understanding of critical development issues in West Africa.
WACSI is currently seeking interns from the West African sub-region who are interested in deepening their civic awareness and advancing their professional capabilities. Interns will be immersed in WACSI’s core areas of work, including Capacity Development, Policy Influencing and Advocacy, and Knowledge Management.
