Currently, applications are open for the NIHR Global Advanced Fellowships. Designed as a mid-career postdoctoral award, the Global Advanced Fellowship scheme aims to establish a career path for researchers in Global Health from the UK and low and middle-income countries, fostering their development into research leaders. The Fellowship is open to postdoctoral researchers at all career stages, targeting individuals at various points in their professional journey.
This £750,000 award encompasses funding for research projects, training, and development, as well as institutional capacity strengthening.
Eligibility:
To qualify for an NIHR Global Advanced Fellowship, applicants must:
- Possess a relevant PhD or postgraduate medical research degree, or have submitted their thesis for examination at the time of application. The PhD or postgraduate medical research degree must have been conferred by the time of the interview.
- Not currently hold a Professorship/Chair at the time of application.
- For clinical applicants, have completed pertinent pre-registration training.
- have a position in a UK Higher Education Institution (HEI), a Research Institute in a Low-Microeconomic Country (LMIC), or both.
- Engage in research that directly and primarily benefits patients and the public in countries on the OECD DAC list.
