Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Arizona State University Mastercard Foundation Innovation and Technology Scholarship. In partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, Arizona State University presents a comprehensive nine-month program focusing on academic and practical training in artificial intelligence (AI) and business tailored for chosen Mastercard Foundation Scholars. The program aims to foster leadership, entrepreneurship, and AI technical skills, empowering students to become AI leaders capable of addressing challenges in Africa and worldwide.
Key Benefits:
- Five scholarships are available for students admitted to the 2024–2025 academic year, covering full tuition fees, accommodation expenses, and comprehensive support.
- In addition to financial assistance, scholars will engage in activities as part of the broader Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Arizona State University, including leadership training, individual mentoring, and various events and programming.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must meet the academic criteria for admission to their chosen degree program, including proficiency in English.
- Applicants must be citizens of African countries committed to ethical leadership and demonstrated community engagement.
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 33 as of the application deadline.
- Applicants must have a proven track record of leadership and service in their community.
- Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and aspirations that exceed their financial means.
- Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree obtained after a minimum of 4 years of study, conferred by July 2024.
- Applicants must not have commenced or completed any other graduate or master’s degree before August 2024.
- Applicants must be willing to reside in Phoenix, Arizona, for the duration of the program.
- Applicants are encouraged to have a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
Scholarship Benefits:
The scholarship will cover the following expenses:
- Visa application processing fees
- Costs associated with English language tests
- Program application fees
- Round-trip airfare to and from Phoenix, Arizona.
- Full tuition, textbooks, and fees
- On-campus housing
- Participation in scholarship programming
