Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 UNESCO International Fund for Cultural Diversity. UNESCO is initiating the fifteenth call for proposals to the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD). Projects will be selected through an open and competitive process, focusing on their potential to achieve tangible and sustainable outcomes for the development of creative sectors in developing countries that are signatories to the 2005 Convention.
Project proposals should aim to:
- Implement and/or develop policies and measures that directly impact the creation, production, distribution, and accessibility of a diverse range of cultural goods and services.
- Enhance the capacities of public institutions and civil society organizations to support viable local and regional cultural industries and markets.
Eligibility Criteria:
Eligible projects under the IFCD should foster structural change by:
- Introducing or enhancing policies and measures that directly influence the creation, production, distribution, and accessibility of diverse cultural expressions, including goods, services, and activities.
- Enhancing the capabilities of public sector and civil society organizations to foster sustainable cultural industries and markets at the local and regional levels in developing nations.
Who Can Apply:
- Public entities and institutions from qualifying nations (developing countries that are signatories to the 2005 Convention).
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from eligible nations (developing countries that are signatories to the 2005 Convention).
- International non-governmental organizations (INGOs) registered in nations that are signatories to the 2005 Convention.
Funding Amount:
- Maximum funding available: $100,000 USD
Implementation Period:
- Minimum duration: 12 months
- Maximum duration: 24 months
