Selection Process
Criteria for Selection
All domestic students who are admitted to a Masters by Research or doctoral degree (PhD) program at the University of Melbourne will automatically receive a Research Training Program Scholarship (Fee Offset).
Research Training Program Scholarships, which include a stipend and fee offset, are awarded to both domestic and international students based on their academic merit. Eligible candidates are assessed and ranked based on their academic performance in their most recent completed degree and their potential for research in their chosen field of study. Additional factors considered may include completing a degree at the same level as the research program for which the scholarship is being sought, relevant professional experience, published works, specialized medical qualifications, or original musical compositions.
Application Procedure
- If you have applied for admission to a graduate research program by the application deadline, you do not need to separately apply for this scholarship. Within seven days of submitting your program application, you will receive confirmation that you will be automatically considered for various graduate research scholarships.
- If you have already received an offer for a graduate research program and deferred your enrollment to the following year, or if you are currently enrolled in a graduate research program and are seeking a scholarship, you will need to complete an online application form.
