Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Women in Africa (WIA) Young Leaders Programme. The WIA Young Leaders program is designed to support and elevate young African women leaders who are poised to make significant contributions to the African transformation. Women In Africa (WIA) Philanthropy is delighted to announce the launch of the 4th edition of the WIA Young Leaders program, in collaboration with Dior, the French investment bank Lazard, the consulting firm KPMG, and the multinational energy company TotalEnergies.
Selection Criteria:
The primary selection criteria include:
- Women aged between 25 and 40 years old (flexibility is possible based on experience level)
- Native to an African country or having parents who originate from an African country.
- Engagement in the development of the continent and commitment to social causes
- Demonstrated leadership skills such as humility, empathy, and resilience
- Priority will be given to candidates who have achieved success through their own efforts or initiatives.
- Vision for the future of Africa
- Willingness to integrate business practices, social impact, and public/private dialogue
- Capacity to assume high-level responsibilities
- Strong persuasive abilities coupled with a penchant for collaboration
- Proficiency in French or English, ideally bilingual
The selection process will be carried out in two phases:
- File-based selection: 12 pre-finalists will be chosen
- Jury interviews: 10 leaders will be selected for further consideration

The WIA Young Leaders program offers the following opportunities:
- Networking with influential personalities and mentors including CEOs, ministers, journalists, business and public figures, and serial entrepreneurs.
- Training sessions cover topics such as board governance, media training, career coaching, and other tailored training.
- International media exposure.
