Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 United Nations Global Compact SDG Pioneers Programme. Each year, the UN Global Compact celebrates the outstanding contributions of business professionals who are driving positive change by promoting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and upholding the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact. These individuals, known as SDG Pioneers, are instrumental in inspiring action and demonstrating the potential of business to create a sustainable future for all.
In 2024, the UN Global Compact is excited to launch another initiative to identify twelve SDG Pioneers from participating companies. These pioneers, irrespective of their roles, are setting ambitious targets for SDG achievement, expanding their influence, and advocating for a principles-based approach within their organizations. Through a meticulous selection process involving both Local and Global Rounds, we will recognize individuals who embody commitment, innovation, and leadership in advancing the SDGs.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be affiliated with UN Global Compact participating companies with an “Active” status.
- Companies must have become members of the UN Global Compact before October 1, 2023.
- To maintain their Active status, companies must submit their Communication on Progress (CoP) within the reporting period from April 1 to July 31. Subsidiaries are eligible to participate if their parent company fulfils this requirement. It is highly recommended that companies submit their CoP by June 1, 2024, to prevent any disruption to their Pioneers application process. Failure to report by July 31 will result in disqualification of a Pioneers application. Any changes in CoP status after being recognized as a Local and/or Global SDG Pioneer may lead to the loss of consideration for the global SDG Pioneer title.

- Global Round Review and Selection: May 17, 2024 – August 2024
- Announcement of Global Winners and Recognition at the 2024 Leaders Summit: September 24, 2024
