Applications are presently open for the 2024 Canon/Visa pour l’Image Photojournalist Grant. Canon and Visa pour l’Image are proud to continue their tradition of honoring exceptional female photographers for their contributions to the field of photojournalism, marking the twenty-fourth year of this esteemed grant.
Benefits:
- The grant offers €8,000 to support an impactful new project, which will be showcased as an exhibition at the 2025 festival.
Application Requirements:
- Applicants must have completed at least one photo report, whether published or unpublished.
- Candidates must be professional photojournalists.
- Proficiency in French and/or English, both written and spoken, is required.
Application Materials:
- A completed and signed application form.
- A copy of the applicant’s identification card or passport.
- An affidavit affirming the applicant’s status as a professional photojournalist (a statement of integrity written by the photographer, agency, or newspaper).
- A comprehensive curriculum vitae.
- A letter supporting the application, detailing the photoreportage project (up to 1 typed page). This letter must maintain anonymity and avoid including any information that could identify the candidate.
- A proposed budget for the photo-reportage project, is to be undertaken if the grant is awarded. If additional financing from other partners is intended, their involvement must be approved by Canon and Images Evidence, who reserve the right to withhold acknowledgement.
- A photo reportage comprising black and white or colour images, consisting of 10 to 20 photographs. Specifications for materials: JPEG format only, with low resolution, captions included in the File Info field (no copyright mention in the IPTC files), and each image file numbered without the photographer’s name (01, 02, 03, etc.), arranged in the preferred order for presentation to the jury.
