Sigma Club University of Ibadan hosts 2024 Roseline Etuokwu Quiz Competition for Nigerians

The Roseline Etuokwu Sigma Secondary School Quiz Competition is a philanthropic initiative of the club aimed at connecting with the grassroots community. The club believes that secondary school students are the future university students, and by engaging with them at this level, they can instil values and principles that will guide them through their academic journey. The competition serves as a platform for students to showcase their moral and educational knowledge, nurturing them to become well-rounded individuals who uphold integrity and purity.

Since its inception, the competition has attracted participation from over 1,300 secondary schools across the six states of the Southwest Region of Nigeria, involving more than 2,600 students. In addition to fostering healthy competition, the event also rewards participants with gift items, including students and teachers, for their involvement.

Prizes Offered:

State Winners: N100,000 each (37 winners)
Regional Winners: N250,000 each (6 winners)
National 6th Position: N100,000 (Consolation Prize)
National 5th Position: N100,000 (Consolation Prize)
National 4th Position: N100,000 (Consolation Prize)
National 3rd Position: N500,000
National 2nd Position: N750,000
National 1st Position (Champion): N1,000,000

Requirements

The 2024 edition of the Sigma Club quiz competition is open to all secondary schools across Nigeria. The competition focuses on Mathematics, English Language, and General Knowledge.

Selection Process

Competition Stages:

1. First or State Stage: One winner will be selected from each of the 37 states (including FCT).

2. Second or Regional Stage: State winners from each region will compete to determine the regional winner.

3. Final or National Stage: The six regional winners will convene in Ibadan on Children’s Day (May 27, 2024).
