The MTN Y’ellopreneur Initiative aims to address female unemployment and promote women’s entrepreneurship by providing training and access to capital through loans, grants, and advisory services.
In its pilot phase launched in 2022 by the MTN Nigeria Foundation, 4,711 female entrepreneurs received training in business management and development.
This training equipped them to compete for equipment loans/grants of up to N2 million to expand their businesses. Over N94 million in equipment loans were given to 50 female entrepreneurs. Upon full repayment, participants will receive 25% of the loan value as grants.
