Applications for the 2024 Austrian Development Cooperation Scholarships are presently open. Annually, the Austrian Development Cooperation provides scholarships to students from developing nations to assist with tuition fees and living expenses.

The Austrian Development Cooperation Scholarships are available for:

  • Students from ADC’s priority countries
  • Students from other developing nations

These scholarships are designated for the Diploma Course provided by the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITH). The Diploma Course encompasses a General Module, a Professional Module concentrating on either Hospitality Management or Tourism Management, and an Elective module offering Entrepreneurship or Teacher Training..

ITH Scholarship Application Process: Students can enroll at ITH through private means or via scholarships provided by the Austrian Development Cooperation. However, it’s important to note that scholarships are limited and highly competitive, and receiving one is not guaranteed.

Benefits of the scholarship include coverage for:

  • Tuition fees
  • Accommodation
  • Flight tickets (from the home country to Salzburg and return)
  • Health insurance
  • Meals from Monday to Sunday
  • Trips and outings (excluding the excursion to ITB Berlin)
  • Monthly pocket money of €205

Not covered by the scholarship are:

  • Airport transfers
  • Visa fees: Applicants must cover the visa fee, which is €160 for an 8.5-month residence permit. Visa D fees may vary, and applicants are advised to contact their embassy for detailed information.

For students from developing countries, the scholarship includes coverage for:

  • Tuition fees
  • Health insurance
  • Meals from Monday to Friday
  • Trips (excluding the excursion to ITB Berlin)
  • Monthly pocket money of €205

Exclusions from the scholarship:

  • Accommodation: Students awarded this scholarship must cover their accommodation costs. The total fee of €1,700 must be paid in advance before the issuance of the admission letter.
  • Flight expenses: Scholarship awardees are accountable for covering their travel costs from their home countries to Salzburg and vice versa.
  • Visa expenses: Applicants are required to cover the visa fees. The cost of an 8-month residence permit is €160. Visa fees for the entry visa (Visa D) differ, and applicants should refer to their embassy for specific details. It is important to note that there is an age restriction of 35 years for eligibility.

Application Procedure:

  • Obtain information about ITH from the website or an Austrian consulate or embassy.
  • You can either download the ITH application form or send an inquiry to office@ith-salzburg.at.
  • Submit applications directly to the institute via email or postal service.
  • The submission deadline is March 31, 2024 (applications must be received by the ITH office by this date).
  • You will receive an email confirmation upon receipt and processing of your application.
  • Confirmation: You will be notified of the application result in May 2024. If awarded a scholarship, you will receive a letter of acceptance.
