Recognizing the significance of youth employment for our country’s economic advancement, SPAR Group Ltd SA has partnered with YES for Youth to provide quality work experiences, enabling youth to realize their full career potential. As an implementation partner for SPAR SA, Catalyx invites unemployed youth to apply for the YES for Youth twelve-month work experience opportunity. SPAR/YES/Catalyx does NOT impose any fees to participate in the program.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Interns will receive a minimum wage, ongoing personal development training, coaching, and various other benefits.

Requirements:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Age between 18 and 28 years old
- Currently not engaged in employment and NOT enrolled in full-time studies
- Matric qualification and relevant Tertiary Qualification (Undergraduate Degree)
- Clear criminal record
- Must NOT have previously participated in YES
- Able to commit to the 12-month work program (April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025)
Interview and Verification Process:
- Departments seeking candidates with completed tertiary qualifications in the following areas:
Finance:
- Degree in Financial Management/Cost and Management Accounting
Marketing:
- Degree in Retail Management/Business Management/Supply Chain Management (focus on buying, negotiating, promotions, and stock planning; strong financial acumen essential)
Information Technology:
- Degree in Project Management (emphasis on Computer Skills/Business Analytics/Retail Systems Specialist/Customer Liaison); Driver’s License preferred
- Specialized qualifications in A & N and MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) with focus areas including Network Systems, Project Management, SAP, and Training.
Warehouse/Logistics:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management
- Degree in Freight Logistics Management
- Degree in Road Transport Management
- Degree in Project Management
- Bachelor’s degree in Consumer Science: Food and Nutrition/Biochemistry
- Degree in Quality Control: Food Technology/Microbiology
Risk/Quality:
- Degree in Environmental Health
- Degree in Safety Management/Quality Assurance
