The University of Glasgow African Partners Awards are designed to assist high-achieving students from various African regions as they strive to become influential leaders of tomorrow. Our goal is to identify individuals who are eager to pursue Master’s level studies, enhancing their expertise and capabilities to make a positive impact on their communities in the years ahead. This scholarship opportunity is exclusively available to students, alumni, and staff of our partner universities across Africa, as listed in the African Partners List 2024.
We are offering up to 5 scholarships to international students from Africa who are embarking on a one-year postgraduate taught Masters program in any field for the academic session 2023/24. The scholarship provides complete coverage of tuition fees throughout the program’s duration.
Applicants must have received an offer for a place on a postgraduate taught one-year Masters program for the September 2024 intake. While an offer is not required to apply, applicants will need one to be considered for an interview. It’s important to note the application timelines outlined on the program web pages.

Requirements:
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement equivalent to a UK 1st Class Honours degree
- Have international fee status
- Be domiciled in Africa
- Present a clear career and/or development plan that aligns with Masters level study (via application form)
- Provide evidence of meeting the UKVI maintenance/living costs by June 30, 2024, if offered the scholarship following a successful interview
- Be affiliated with one of the University’s partner institutions in Africa, either as a student, alumni, or staff member
Selection Process:
- The deadline to apply for the scholarship is March 31, 2024. Applications received after this date will not be reviewed.
- Applicants who are shortlisted for interviews will be notified by May 10, 2024.
