Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 AWIEF-Nedbank South Africa program. Launched in 2017, the AWIEF Growth Accelerator is a flagship initiative focused on fostering the growth of early-stage and high-growth-oriented women-owned and women-led small and medium-sized enterprises (WSMEs). It provides growth strategy training, corporate advisory, mentoring, networking, and access to finance. The 2024 AWIEF-Nedbank South Africa program aims to boost the preparedness of women to access funding opportunities and expand their businesses in the agriculture and green economy sectors. It offers tailored business development services, tools, mentoring, and skills enhancement. For the 2024 cohort, applications are welcome from WSMEs operating in agribusiness, agro-processing, green energy, and climate-smart solutions. Technology-based and tech-enabled businesses are strongly encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Requirements

 Businesses must satisfy the following criteria to be considered eligible:

  • South African Exempt Micro Enterprises (EMEs) or Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSEs), with a minimum of 51% female black ownership
  • Operations in agriculture (agribusiness, agro-processing), green economy, and climate-smart solutions
  • Post-revenue phase
  • Scalable and highly innovative ventures
  • Operational for at least three years
  • Owned or led by ambitious and committed women entrepreneurs
  • Seeking investment or funding for scaling purposes
