The Onyebuchi Chris Ifediora (OCI) Foundation annually extends financial awards to indigent Nigerian students to support their education in accredited Nigerian universities.
OCI Foundation Scholarship recipients receive annual financial support throughout the approved duration of their chosen programs at any university of their preference in Nigeria. These scholarships specifically target academically outstanding students facing financial challenges, and the application and screening processes are tailored to attract, identify, and assist these undergraduate students.

Requirements
(A). FIRST-TIME APPLICANTS:
- A valid Government-issued identity (ID) document (e.g., International Travel Passport, Voter’s Card, National Identity Card, or Driver’s License). Applicants below the age of 18 who cannot apply for a government ID can submit a birth certificate.
- An official letter from your school (Head of Department) stating: Your full name, Gender, Matriculation number (Newly matriculated scholars who have not yet received a matriculation number or school ID must submit a provisional admission letter from their institution of study, stating the Course Title and Level, and Department of Study;
- Certified copies (attested by a qualified legal practitioner) of the following. Note that successful applicants must present the originals during interviews:
- JAMB/UME result certificate
- Senior Secondary School Exam Certificate (WASSCE or NECO)
- A valid student ID for your host institution
- A recent passport photograph
- A letter of recognition from the Traditional Ruler of your town, confirming your Local Government Area in Anambra State, Nigeria. No alternative letters or documents will be accepted in place of this.
- A 500-word essay on “My family.”
Note: Originals of all submitted documents will be required for viewing during the interview, attended only by successful candidates.
(B). RENEWING APPLICANTS:
- An official letter from your school (Head of Department) containing the following details: Your full name, Gender, Matriculation number, Course Title and Level, Department of Study, and your Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) for the completed years. OR:
- An official statement of your results for the completed year(s).
- If applicable, a letter indicating any changes in your circumstances (such as a change in department, withdrawal from school, etc.). Note: Originals of all the submitted documents will be required for viewing during the interview, attended only by successful candidates.
Method of Application
The 2024 Scholarship applications, for both first-time and renewing candidates, will commence from midnight on February 22, 2024, and end at midnight on April 26, 2024. All times are based on GMT.
