GBSN is thrilled to declare the fourth annual Africa Business Concept Challenge (ABCC), a virtual competition tailored for African undergraduate and graduate students. This competition challenges student teams to create a viable business concept that tackles a locally relevant challenge or problem related to Agenda 2063 and inclusive and sustainable development.
The Africa Business Concept Challenge aims to support young individuals from the African continent who exhibit entrepreneurial orientation, a desire to serve their community, and adherence to the outlined values. Focused on promoting responsible business practices, the competition identifies young people with high potential for mentorship and investment.

Projects:
Student teams will participate in a three-phased project development process where their business concepts are evaluated and scored by a designated Investor Expert, providing critical feedback for improving their concepts. Projects will be accepted if they properly identify and define a local challenge, propose a viable business concept addressing the problem, and outline the implementation and impact of the business solution. Method of Application
- The challenge will be conducted virtually over a 5-week period.
- Teams should comprise two to five members, with at least two current students at an African institution during the competition. Interdisciplinary teams are encouraged.
- Each team must designate a Captain responsible for communications with GBSN and team registration.
- Every team must have a Faculty Mentor upon registration, guiding teams and enhancing the learning experience.
