The WIPO Global Awards honor outstanding enterprises and individuals who adeptly utilize intellectual property for commercialization, contributing positively to society through their innovation and creativity.
This annual Awards competition is designed for participants originating from WIPO’s 193 Member States across diverse economic sectors. Initially catering to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the contest has introduced a new category for startups in 2024, with plans to include additional categories in future editions of the program.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The Awards Program is open to all SMEs located in at least one of WIPO’s 193 Member States, provided they meet the following conditions:
- It must be a registered business entity, requiring proof of registration.
- The enterprise should have no more than 300 employees and up to 15 million US dollars in total annual sales.
- The business must hold at least one registered intellectual property (IP) right.
- It should be engaged in exporting its products or services to at least one country.
Awards
Recipients of the awards will enjoy the following benefits:
- Sponsors travel to Geneva to participate in the Awards Ceremony and associated special events, following WIPO’s regulations.
- A unique WIPO Trophy was crafted exclusively for this program.
- Tailored intellectual property (IP) mentorship opportunities, taking into account the individual business background and specific needs of the winners.
Furthermore, awardees will receive promotion, visibility, and acknowledgment through various channels, including an Awards ceremony, a dedicated WIPO Awards webpage, WIPO media, and other external platforms focused on intellectual property.
