Are you seeking an invigorating internship opportunity at a distinguished international financial institution? Are you nearing the completion of your PhD in economics or a related field, or are you concluding a Master’s degree in economics?
Consider the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Internship Program (FIP) as a potential fit for you!
Successful candidates will embark on a 10- to 12-week paid internship scheduled between June and September 2024. The exact internship dates will be mutually agreed upon between the intern and the IMF supervisor upon acceptance of the offer. This in-person internship will take place at the IMF headquarters in Washington, DC.
Guided by an experienced IMF colleague, you will delve into research and analysis on a topic specified by the Fund. Your work might culminate in a research paper, possibly for internal publication.
Requirements
To be eligible for the FIP, you must meet these minimum criteria:
For PhD students
- Within a timeframe of one to two years from concluding a PhD in macroeconomics or a related field.
- Maintaining student status during the internship (continuing PhD studies after the internship).
- Under 28 years old at the commencement of the internship.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English is a requisite
- Robust analytical, quantitative, and computer skills.
For Master’s students
- Finishing a Master’s degree in macroeconomics or a related field.
- Must be under 28 years old at the internship’s commencement.
- Proficiency in written and verbal English is a requisite
- Solid analytical, quantitative, and computer abilities
