WWF’s Russell E. Train 2024 Fellowships: Environmental and Social Impact Grant

WWF’s Russell E Train Education for Nature (EFN) Program welcomes proposals focused on collaborative capacity building regarding (i) the environmental and social impacts and risks associated with development projects on ecosystems and their services, and (ii) the enhancement of inclusive conservation and sustainable development.

Requirements:

The Environmental and Social Impact Grant aims to offer competitive financial support to teams and institutions operating in Kenya, Tanzania, and Madagascar, concentrating on bolstering capacities for addressing environmental and social impact assessment needs. The emphasis is placed on engaging local communities and practitioners. Proposals should target diverse audiences involved in handling social and environmental issues within conservation and development initiatives. Priority is given to aligning with WWF’s key goals, which encompass climate, food, forests, freshwater, oceans, and wildlife.

Application Details:

  • The proposed activities should conclude by August 2025, with applicants eligible to request up to US$15,000, substantiated by clear and strong budget justifications.
  • Applications must be submitted through the online portal by December 18, 2023, before 11:59 p.m. US Eastern Time.
  • The approved funding amounts may vary. Successful applicants will be notified by early May 2024.
