The Vienna Biocenter Summer School offers a distinctive opportunity for approximately 20 undergraduates to collaborate directly with leading researchers in an energetic scientific setting.
Designed to attract talented students globally, the program fosters a lively and diverse environment. It serves as an ideal preparation for those interested in pursuing graduate studies within the life sciences field. Successful applicants are granted accommodation, a travel allowance, and a stipend for the duration of the scholarship. The program spans from the last Friday in June to the final Friday of August (or August 31) each year.
Requirements:
- Completion of at least three years of university courses in biology or related subjects (senior undergraduate or master’s level students)
- No final bachelor’s or master’s degree required
- Ineligibility for students already enrolled in a Ph.D. program
- Basic grasp of biological research and technical laboratory skills; previous lab experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Proficiency in English (as the working language)
- High motivation and eagerness to learn
- Strong team-player skills and ability to collaborate within a group
- Commitment to attend the entire three-month period (June 1st – August 31st)
