The iHack4SDG Challenge 2023, hosted by ICAN-BOI in collarboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Bank of Industry, aims to bring together a group of creative young minds from various tech fields to address urgent Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The ICANBOI innovation hub is now accepting applications for the iHack4SDG Challenge. The beginning of the competition is scheduled for May 17 to May 24, 2023, and will be held in person at the ICAN-BOI Innovation Hub. The top 10 ideas will be selected from the applications received, with three winning teams ultimately chosen.
The challenge offers a chance for people to work together and create creative solutions for 10 out of the 17 SDGs. Those who win the challenge will receive support and resources to enhance, test, and expand their ideas, which can eventually become actual business ventures. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions and potentially enter the ICAN-BOI incubation program.
Eligibility
- Everyone is welcome to participate in our event, regardless of their background or experience in hacking.
- We believe that solving problems requires diverse perspectives, so we encourage anyone with a desire to make the world a better place to join us. Technical expertise is not required, as we value the contributions of all team members who are team players.
Benefits
The award winners will receive cash prizes amounting to 3.5 million Naira. They will also have the opportunity to access ICANBOI’s incubation support initiative and use workspace facilities.

- 3rd Prize – N750,000

Method of Application
They are not only interested in receiving technical entries, so your solution might be anything from a concept to an idea for an app to a product or platform – basically anything, as long as it contributes to addressing the chosen problem and the SDG that corresponds to it!
