The Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (LAP) is an initiative designed to provide training in modern agricultural practices to young individuals aged 18-25. Its aim is to demonstrate the potential within the food system through training, internships, and mentorship opportunities. This aligns with the Ministry of Agriculture’s role in the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Developmental Agenda of the State Government, focusing on Capacity Building, Employment Generation, and Food Security promotion, among other objectives.
Requirements:
- Applications are currently being accepted from suitable candidates for enrollment in a one-month training program covering Poultry, Piggery, Aquaculture, Vegetable Value Chains, E-Agric, and Agribusiness at the Agricultural Training Institute, Araga, Epe.
- Following the training, participants will engage in a three-month internship and mentorship phase with selected commercial farms in their chosen value chains.
- An assessment will be conducted at the end of the training to gauge participants’ comprehension levels and determine rewards to incentivize hard work.
Eligibility criteria:
- Young individuals with a passion for agriculture who meet the following requirements:
- Possess a minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate.
- Have satisfactory physical/health condition.
- Fall within the age range of 18-25.
Application Process:
- Eligible candidates must visit the LAP APPLICATION PORTAL to complete the online application form.
- Follow the instructions provided on the online registration form and upload the necessary documents (LASRRA Card and Academic Credentials).
- It is recommended that applicants take photos of the required documents beforehand and store them on their Smartphones, Tablets, or Computers to facilitate the uploading process.
- Ensure all mandatory fields are completed to avoid an incomplete application.
- Shortlisted applicants will receive notification via SMS to participate in an online Aptitude Test, with specific dates scheduled for each month.
