Scholarships will be awarded to the most qualified individuals based on the review of applications. All applicants will receive notification of their status within the specified time frames for each region.

Requirements:
To qualify for a scholarship to attend an international conference, applicants must:
- Be a full-time student enrolled at a recognized university in Africa who requires financial assistance for conference travel.
- Acceptance of a paper at a prestigious computer science conference. Preference is given to conferences in research areas aligned with Google’s interests. Please refer to research.google.com for a list of relevant areas.
- Serve as the sole or joint first author of the accepted paper.
- Google employees are ineligible to apply for Google scholarships. Additionally, individuals who are residents of or ordinarily resident in embargoed countries, or who are otherwise prohibited by applicable export controls and sanctions programs, may not apply for this scholarship.

The selection of scholarship recipients will be based on a thorough review of applications. Applicants will be informed of their application status within the specified time frames for their respective regions.
We continuously review applications throughout the year, so eligible candidates can expect a response approximately four weeks after submitting their application. We recommend applying for the grant well in advance of the conference start date, as the processing time for payment completion may take between 5-8 weeks. Upon approval of the travel grant, funds will be disbursed to the applicant’s university, and students can claim expenses through regular university procedures.
