Translating to “great idea” in isiZulu, Isu Elihle challenges journalists to submit innovative story ideas that prioritize children’s voices and hold authorities accountable.
The competition seeks to empower journalists by providing mentorship, resource sharing, and financial support to develop and publish child-focused stories on various mainstream news platforms. It encourages innovative journalism about children and prompts journalists to reconsider their approach to engaging with and reporting on issues affecting children. The transformation from the initial idea to the final published story reflects significant growth in storytelling skills.
This pioneering initiative nurtures top-notch, child-centred journalism that amplifies children’s perspectives and catalyzes positive change in media coverage of their issues.

Requirements
