The Prize fund originates from the Abu Dhabi Government, serving as a tribute to and continuation of the legacy of the late founding father of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Administered by Masdar, the renewable energy company based in Abu Dhabi, the Zayed Future Energy Prize is supervised by a committed team year-round.

Requirements:
The Zayed Future Energy Prize is accessible to all applicants except (a) members of the board and employees of Masdar, and (b) individuals who have participated in the organization, promotion, or adjudication of the Prize.
