Applications are presently open for the 2024 Konrad Adenauer Stiftung PDWA Summer School Master’s Scholarship. The primary objective of this application call is to identify participants for the KAS Summer School 2024, with the intention of selecting recipients for the KAS PDWA Master’s Scholarship 2024 upon completion of the workshop. The KAS Summer School is scheduled to be held online in July 2024. Following the submission of applications, KAS PDWA will evaluate candidates and notify them via email between May and June regarding the specific dates and procedures for the subsequent stages of the selection process.
Through this scholarship initiative, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), in collaboration with the Regional Program for Political Dialogue in West Africa (PDWA), provides support to students who exhibit outstanding academic performance coupled with noteworthy social or political engagement. The program aims to equip these individuals for future roles in political or economic spheres, research, media, and other relevant areas.

Requirements:
General eligibility criteria:
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree in fields such as political science, economics, law, social sciences, journalism, or other relevant disciplines from one of the specified countries within the subregion, including Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Togo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
- Availability of scholarships for students enrolled in both public and private universities. It should be noted that scholarship availability is contingent upon the funding provided by KAS PDWA.
- Demonstration of above-average academic performance.
- Display of leadership capabilities.
- Evidence of a strong interest in political matters and a personal commitment to political, social, or related issues, as demonstrated by active involvement in political parties or associations, educational institutions, religious organizations, or social groups.
- Alignment with the values and principles advocated by KAS.
Exclusion criteria:
- Applications that are incomplete or submitted after the deadline of March 24, 2024, will not be considered.
- The scholarship does not support undergraduate or doctoral studies (bachelor’s or doctoral degrees).
- Applicants must be under the age of 35.
- Applications for studies outside the countries covered by the PDWA initiative will not be accepted.
- Candidates who have been rejected twice in previous application cycles are ineligible to reapply.

- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- A copy of your most recent diploma or academic transcript, which should include your bachelor’s degree.

- A motivation letter directed to the KAS Resident Representative.
Original copies and supplementary documents, particularly certified copies of diplomas, may be requested as necessary.
Selection Criteria:
- Initial screening will be based solely on the quality of applications and the competency of candidates, without any national quotas being applied.
- Only successful applicants will be contacted by KAS PDWA to proceed with the selection process for the 2024 scholarship recipients of the PDWA scholarship program.
- The selection process may span several months.
